FN Herstal Licensed SCAR-H / MK17 AEG Airsoft Rifle by VFC CYBER GUN

In 2007, the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) was looking to find a new platform to possibly replace the tried and true M4 rifle.  Designed by Belgian arms manufacturer FN Herstal the Special Operation Forces Combat Assault Rifle – or SCAR, was picked up due to its reliable, low-maintenance and modular performance in testing trials.  Between 2009 and 2010, a battalion of the 75th Ranger Regiment was deployed into the country armed with the SCAR-L, and its larger caliber counterpart the SCAR-H.  Currently, the SCAR platform is being used by numerous military and special units in over 20 countries.

The SCAR-H / MK17 by VFC is one of the most realistic looking airsoft replicas on the market, especially now that it has officially licensed FN Herstal trademarks.  It features ambidextrous fire selector, magazine release, and a charging handle that can be swapped to either side of the receiver, making this AEG rifle is very user friendly for lefties.  In addition to the ambidextrous controls, the SCAR features a very unique stock.  The stock can be extended to six positions of length, the check rest can be adjusted to two heights and the stock can be folded and locked to the right side of the gun – making it useful for CQB games or storage purposes.

Staying true to the original FN design, the MK17 has a metal upper receiver and a nylon reinforced fiber lower.  This makes the SCAR-H significantly lighter than most standard M4s.  The VFC SCAR-H also comes with 3 rail segments and a full length top rail for the addition of any tactical accessories.

VFC uses a high quality, full metal, CNC machined version 2 gearbox.  An interesting feature that VFC did to their SCAR-L, that other companies failed to do, was eliminate the exposed wire when the stock was folded. Using a series of connectors in the stock’s hinges, they were able to essentially hide the wire so it won’t get damaged when you are using the stock.
